- You called the Great Montana Centennial Cattle Drive a
- "load of bull" (NATION, Sept. 18). Smile when you say that,
- pardner. The world witnessed the splendid spectacle of 100 real
- Montana cowboys bringing 3,000 cattle into Billings after a
- 60-mile drive, along with 3,000 outriders on horse and wagon who
- never had more fun in their lives. Contrary to your dyspeptic
- assertions, the great cattle drives of the past have not faded
- from Montana's memories; nor have traditional values, the spirit
- of the Old West or the celebration of life departed this state.
